Application Highlights: Compared to traditional insulation renovations, the construction of aerogel coatings is more convenient, with minimal disruption to normal teaching activities. It also requires almost no special maintenance in the future, making it ideal for the rapid renovation of school buildings. The product has non-toxic, harmless, and eco-friendly characteristics, does not release harmful gases, and helps maintain good air quality within the campus, ensuring the health of both teachers and students.
Through careful design, a 2mm intermediate layer + 0.5mm topcoat insulation solution was determined for the 5000 m² construction area, significantly improving the thermal insulation performance of the Song Qingling Arts School’s comprehensive building. After the renovation, under a 3.5°C rise in environmental temperature, the exterior roof temperature dropped from 61°C before renovation to 43°C; the interior roof temperature decreased from 51.6°C to 39.6°C; and the temperature difference between the interior roof and the environment reduced from 17.2°C to 1.7°C. This effectively improved the building's insulation performance, creating a warmer and more comfortable learning environment for students and teachers, while also providing a green sunshade for the healthy growth of children.
With its high-efficiency thermal insulation performance, aerogel coating will significantly enhance the building’s passive energy efficiency, noticeably reducing the frequency and energy consumption of air conditioning and other heating/cooling systems, thus lowering operational costs. Compared to traditional insulation + decorative cladding methods, the overall cost of the aerogel insulation solution can be reduced by 10-15%, and the construction period shortened by over 50%, leading to significant savings in construction costs. Additionally, as a water-based system, the aerogel coating is non-toxic, harmless, and has a minimal impact on the ecological environment.
